About Marot Publishers
Founded in 1989, Marot is the imprint of Jan Martens' editorial activity since he left the Fonds Mercator in 2012, after 45 years of creating art and history books.
Its programme, limited to one or two publications per year, is that of a highly eclectic one-man endeavour in the service of artist friends, collectors, and cultural institutions who need the book as a medium for their work or image.
Jan Martens
Jan Martens holds a PhD in Comparative Linguistics and Literature. He is the founder of the Fonds Mercator, the Motovun Group of International Publishers, and the collections "Musea Nostra", "Musées et Monuments de France", "Museos y Monumentos de España", and "Museen, Schlösser und Denkmäler in Deutschland".
